Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about focus and clarity. I’m very busy but I have a ton of different projects and things to keep on top of. I’m working on Inner City Kids again, which is going well but is too early to show properly, I have client work from pixelartcommissions.com to work through, and I’m also working on a new artwork store for people who can’t afford commissions, or who just need something to get started quickly.

I love doing all of these things, but the reality is I just don’t have time to do them all alongside a full time job, and home commitments (neither of which I would be willing to give up). This has made me very aware of two things.

Focus – Am I doing whatever my current task is as efficiently as possible? Do I know what I need to do and how to do it? With so much to do I often find myself feeling like I need to work, but too tired to work properly, which is a waste of time. I need to get better at noticing when I do this and start taking time to rest more.

Clarity – Why am I doing this thing instead of another? Is this the right thing to do? This one I struggle with a lot, and have done for a long time. How do you know which venture will pay off, which one will help you achieve your goals? What even are those goals? Where do you want to be in 10 years time, and what is the path to that? You can see how easy it is to spiral when looking for clarity, and it is definitely a weakness of mine.

Is there anything that you do to find Focus or Clarity?
